Bodas de Platino! - Platinum Jubilee!

Familia y amigos nos juntamos para festejar los 70 años de casados de George y Norma.

Los encuentros y festejos entre primos, amigos y familia comenzaron a medida que cada uno iba llegando los dias previos al evento principal!

Puras charlas, risas, abrazos y besos fueron compartidos durante nuestros 6 dìas en California.

Bien afortunados de poder presenciar, compartir y ser parte de este gran acontecimiento.

70 años de amor!, de estar juntos, de vivir juntos, en las buenas y en las malas, esta vida que les ha tocado vivir!

El sàbado almuerzo en un salón de eventos contra la bahía de San Francisco; una vista espectacular! Todo estuvo muy lindo, muy bien organizado.

De ahi, solo familiares y amigos màs cercanos fuimos a lo de Sylvia a seguir charlando!!

We spent a few days surrounded by family, cousins and friends that came together to celebrate George and Norma’s wedding anniversary!

70 year of love, of cruising this life together!, an amazing achievement!

Saturday, the main gathering, was organized at a private room in a restaurante right next to the bay, gorgeous views!

From there, the extended family and close friends went to Sylvia’s for the rest of the day!

El domingo fuimos todos a lo de Joy a almorzar y pasar la tarde. Nosotros, los ùltimos!, nos fuimos a las 9.30 de la noche!! En la pileta, las risas y carcajadas me llevaron a la buena època de El Ñandù!, tan lindo estar rodeados por la misma gente que alguna vez compartimos esos dìas años atràs!!

Aprovechamos al máximo nuestras horas en familia!!

Sunday lunch was hosted by Joy, in Napa valley! Another wonderful time with family and friends!

Lots of talking, laughing and having a great time!, remanding us of the good times spent at El Ñandù, the farm where Denis grow up; where Norma and George hosted wonderful summer and winter holidays!!

George, Norma, Yvonne, Leti y Marie Louise vinieron a visitarnos a la Isla Grande por una semana!

Re organizamos la casa, los cuartos asì se podìan quedar con nosotros. Lo pasamos genial!, nos divertimos un montón y nos llenaron las almas de amor, abrazos y besos!!

Còmo extraño eso de los argentinos…

George, Norma, Yvonne, Leti y Marie Louise came to visit us in the Big Island! We had a ball!, lots of laughter, chatting, love, hugs and kisses!! This is what I miss the most of the Argentinian people: the easy going of hugging and kissing!!

Every time someone leaves the house, you kiss; you kiss at bed time and again!, in the morning!! I love it!

Hicimos el infaltable paseo a el volcán, parando en varios lugares turísticos màs accesibles al contingente de edad avanzada!!, bajo un dia soleado hermoso!

Todos fascinados con los campos de lava en la zona ceca; la vegetación selvática de Kona y el resto de la isla!

En una de las paradas una parejita joven que hablaban castellano con lo cual, intercambiamos una palabra o dos cuando ella!, lo ve a George y se vuelve loca de amor!: "mi abuelito!, abuelito puedo sacarme una foto contigo!!” Y se abrazaba a George y después a Norma!, super enamorada no paraba de abrazarlo y decirle “abuelito”!! Hasta les pido el numero de teléfono porque vive cerca de lo de Norma y quieren ir a visitarlos!!

De vuelta, en la caldera del volcàn, nos volvemos a encontrar! Màs abrazos y exclamaciones! El marido me decía: ”ella tiene abuelita y ama a los abuelos!!” Son de Guatemala pero viven en California.

Ya a esta altura, Denis también intercambió numero de teléfono y les diò un montòn de sugerencias para las playas locales!

Una vuelta por el centro de información turístico de la caldera de Kilauea justo cuando caían unas gotas que refrescaron el ambiente un poco!

Teníamos una casa alquilada casi con suficientes camas para todos, Yvonne durmió en el sofa del living!

A la vuelta paramos en dos o tres partes para que sigan conociendo la isla! Tomàndo un cafecito en Hilo antes de la recta final a casa!

We went to Kilauea volcano stopping to the usual touristy spots to show them the beauty of this island! Everyone fascinated with the lava fields, it vegetation, the color of the ocean!

We had a beautiful sunny day for great views!, tho a few drops of rain in the afternoon as we decided to stop at the information center!, perfect timing!

At one of the lookouts/scenic overlook, on the way to the volcano, we heard a young couple talking in Spanish so we interacted with them, next thing!!, the girl is all exited seen all these elders!; she started hugging George calling “abuelito”, “grandpa” so happy! She asked if they could take a picture!, kept hugging everyone and always going back to George saying “grandpa/abuelito!!” Then, she exchange phone numbers with Norma because they leave in Bay Area as well and asked if they could visit them!

At one of the stops at Kilauea crater we met again! She runs to George, hugging and calling him abuelito!!, again; jumping up and down with joy! Such a sweet girl! They are from Guatemala living in California. By now even Denis exchanges phone number and give them advice on what beach they should go on their visit here!

We rented a house with beds for all tho Yvonne slept in the living room’s couch for more comfort!

On our way back home we stopped at different locations, showing them more pretty sites!, finishing the weekend with a coffee in Hilo!

Alrededor de casa visitamos dos o tres playas y tuvimos un dia de compras que solo las mujeres fuimos!, paseando por Kona. George optò por irse a la cancha con Denis!

Around home we visited a couple of beaches and one day the ladies went on a shopping day and to visit Kona. George opted to stay with Denis at the golf course!

Un dia fuimos todos a la cancha de golf donde Denis les mostrò y explicò sobre el trabajo que hacemos.

Also, we all visited the golf course where Denis showed us around and explained the work we do.

Capaz se nos fue de mano con los paseos!… Hora de la siesta!!
